Students must be at least 18 yrs of age or older and meet the following Admission Requierments:
  • Attend an interview with the Admissions Officer
  • Provide a National Identification or Military Discharge Identification or the State of Texas Identification, and a Social Security Card
  • Provide completed admission application
  • Provide transcripts from previous schools, if any
  • Possess a High School Diploma or GED or 7th Grade level completed
  • Provide 2 passport pictures
  • Provide 5 contact references

A licensed cosmetologist can become a barber for only 300 hours and not 1500 at The Barber Education Academy. A barber license will allow the cosmetologist to increase their skillset. Through this course students will acquire soft and hard skills in order to excel in today's dynamic barbering industry.
YES. You cannot practice legally without a license. The state-certified license of a Barbering/cosmetologist takes time to earn and practitioners of the craft may be eager to get started, but they cannot practice Barbering/cosmetology without a license. By law, any services done within the field of Barber/cosmetology for any form of compensation is illegal if done without a completed education and a license. The size of the fine depends on the kind of activity you engaged in and the laws of your state. Common fines for misdemeanor offenses range from about$500 to $1,000 or more.
